I have downloaded the program, but I can't find anyone selling it (preferably in the UK). How do I get a CD key if I can't purchase the program.
I have searched Handango and Pocketgear websites but they don't seem to have it. |

Hello Duncan,
I am sorry to inform you that we have taken Wi-Fi Companion off of the market. The product will now only be packaged with the purchase of our wireless cards and as embedded software for our SoMo 650.

| If I purchase SoMo 650, can I use the software with a different device? I have a Cingular 8525 with WM5 and WIFI built-in. Thanks. |

hi wbremner,
There are no guarantees that our software will work with the cingular 8525 as we have not QA'd it against that device. However it may work. A more cost effective way than buying the SoMo 650 would be to purchase one of our wireless cards.

| I have the same problem. I downloaded WFC, liked it a lot and wanted to pay for it but to no avail. WFC works fine with my HP hx4700 built-in WiFi antenna. No reason to purchase another WiFi card. Why can't Socket charge $5 for WFC and let more people like me to use it? |

| I think Wifi companion retailed for 20 or 30 USD. Honestly, I think they pulled it from Handango so that they could retool it, and give more focus to the SoMo. Anyway, what I would do is ask Socket for a "beta" version. The product is undoubtably stable, plus you'll get it for free. Failing that, see if you purchase it from them. Either way you need to talk to Socket's technical support team. There are links to them off of almost every admin post. |
